Today was Brazil-iant!!

Today we had a great presentation on samba at the Escola de Samba! It was great to learn more about the culture and how much work goes into the float making process. We got the amazing opportunity to look at the truly giant floats and got some more insight on what goes into making them. We saw all the materials and fabrics, saw employees hand-making the costumes, and got to try on the biggest pink feather headdress! Later on, we went to lunch at Bella Grill. I had never seen such a big buffet, I tried one of everything and now I think Brazilian cuisine might be my new favourite! I specifically loved the barbecue meat and the pastel. Then we headed towards the UNIFESP campus, it was interesting to see that the structure was very open concept versus Odette. With the beautiful weather in São Paulo besides the rain, it was very nice to have a summer breeze throughout the school. Next, we listened to the Brazilian students presentation. It was so informative and interesting to see the similaires and differences between Canada and Brazil. I really enjoyed Natalia’s mom’s baking. I love desserts, the brigadeiro was delicious! We then gave the Canadian presentation, we sang the Canadian anthem to the Brazilian students which they really enjoyed. Both presentations were very informative and went well. It felt great to see our hard work pay off. Today was a great day to learn so much new information on the wonderful Brazil and our home Canada. Overall, today was Brazil-iant!
