On our last day, we visited Porto de Santos, the largest port in Latin America. We were able to visit the museum and found various old technologies used by ships and crews in the past including computers, x-ray machines, naviguation devices, and more. We also had the opportunity to get a tour by boat. This really allowed us to understand the size and complexity of the port as it supports more than a dozen docks all used by different companies, and the different kinds of materials stocked in the harbour.
As this will be my last blog of the trip, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Azevedo, Dr. Schlosser, our new friends over at UNIFESP, and everyone that made this trip truly an amazing experience. Not only am I leaving with new knowledge and information on Brazil and its differences in comparison to Canada, but also connections and memories that will last me a lifetime. Thank you, I look forward to seeing next year’s team enjoy this trip as much as or even more than we did!
