Today we went to the B3 facility and museum. We got to learn about the culture and growth within the Brazilian market. It was fascinating to hear about. And looking at all of the different artifacts from the Brazil stock exchange. After having lunch we headed to Instituto Agronômico de Campinas (IAC), we were able to hear about the different programs this institution offers and the research they heavily focus on, we later were taken to the outdoor field where they grow all of the crops, we were able to try the coffee beans that were growing. They were sweet but had a bitter after taste. Something I found interesting about this was that they had told us that all the coffee initially came from Africa and was later exported to other parts such as Brazil. On the Ethiopian side of my culture we have a very heavy focus on coffee and theirs a very particular way in which we make our coffee, so I was happy to know that we were part of they’re grown in this industry and had a huge contribution. Then lastly we ended the night off with dinner at Consagrando, it was delicious! Today was definitely a great day and gave us all the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the important roles these two places played in the economic growth of Brazil!
