After a very long and exciting day in São Paulo, woke up rested well and ate a bit of delicious breakfast that gave me lots of energy for another adventurous day. The first thing on the agenda was Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand or MASP. It is an iconic building located in the Financial center of São Paulo which houses many of Brazil and Latin America's most important collections of renowned art. My first impression was a bit confused but it became very interesting after reading information about the ideas, meaning and purposes of them. Lunch was served at Choperia Opção where I had Coxinha De Cogumelos (fried cheese and mushroom balls), Filé de frango e queijo ( grilled chicken with cheese) and Guarana (a popular soda drink made from local fruit which contains 2-8% caffeine), it was a truly terrific dish. After we took the metro to stroll the Japanese district it was a huge shock to me as I didn't know the extraordinarily vibrant Japanese integrated into the Brazilian lifestyle and culture. Finally, we ended the day with our Brazilian friend by spending time in the Shopping Eldorado Mall where I had Penne Caprese (a Brazilian-Italian pasta dish). It is only day two and I can't believe what I have learnt and experienced just in 48 hours!
