Day 3: Carnaval e UNIFESP

Eggs, ham and bread, the breakfast of champions. The fuel to start the day full of activities, starting with an introduction and tour of the Carnaval held in São Paulo every year and ending with student presentations at UNIFESP.

We started off by visiting the facilities where floats and extravagant outfits are made for the Carnaval. We began to learn about the impact the Carnaval has on the economy, the people , and how it brings everyone together despite differences for one big celebration every year where everyone can participate.

Later at UNIFESP the Brazilian students presented on Brazil and Canadian students on Canada. There are so many more similarities between the 2 countries compared to differences. Brazil and Canada are both large exporters of natural and raw materials, host the largest forests in the world and are focused on creating a more sustainable forest. The people have been very warm and welcoming and have many values that align with Canadians both at home and at work.
